Quick Summary

Simon investigates a forger who has faked his death

About This Program

An Algerian agent trying to fund the resistance movement leads Simon to investigate how a master forger believed long dead is still alive

More information

Tonight's The Work of Art, “The Saint”, opens with an Algerian rebel leader arriving in Paris to offload a batch of forged American bearer bonds. He hopes the cash will keep the resistance fighting the French. His French contact, Jean Bougrenet, a smooth‑talking businessman, has been handling the forgeries for a man who faked his own death years ago. When the go‑between is murdered, Simon is pulled in to trace the missing link. His search leads him to a shabby circus where Roger Moore, inexplicably dressed as a clown, is seen slipping a sealed envelope to a shadowy figure. Simon soon discovers the supposed dead forger is alive, pulling the strings behind the bond scam and the rebel’s downfall. With betrayals tightening and the police closing in, the episode builds to a tense showdown in a Parisian warehouse. Expect sharp dialogue, a touch of noir humour and a surprise twist that keeps the mystery ticking over.

The Saint broadcasts on That's TV 3 (MCR) at 11:05pm, Wednesday, 17 December 2025.
