The treacherous Major Brand dupes Sharpe

The Napoleonic War is entering its final stages and the French formulate a desperate plan to capture Wellington's spymaster Major General Ross. Sharpe is ordered by Wellington to accompany Colonel Brand, whose loyalty is questioned by both Wellington and Ross, as he intends to destroy the French main powder supply in the caves of Rocha.
