DCI Barnaby and DS Winter discover a dead body surrounded by rabbits that have escaped from a local pet show, after someone deliberately freed them from their cages. At the crime scene, DCI Barnaby and DS Winter discover that the victim died from a stab wound to the neck, and theorise that the murderer might be a competitor sabotaging the Belville Small Pet Show, and question the Best in Show defending champion Timothy Benson. The pair must work out if this is a sign of rivalry taken too far, or is the killer driven by something darker?
