However, as this documentary reveals many were active participants that were as brutal and merciless as their better-known, male counterparts. The first of two episodes begins with Hitler's arrival in power in 1933 and goes back to the roots of the indoctrination of young German girls within the female branch of the Hitler Youth (BDM)
